How to judge a shilajit brand

Seven questions that separate a brand from a label. They apply to every seller, including VibeMedX, so we answer each one for ourselves below.

A finished jar tells you nothing on its own. The answers behind it do.

THE SHORT ANSWER

Judge the chain, not the packaging.

Every shilajit brand says it is pure and authentic. Those words cost nothing. What costs something is being able to answer plain questions about where the material came from, who handled it, how it was purified, which batch you are holding, what can be shown for it, what customers actually said, and whether the brand promises more than anyone can prove.

Ron's version of this is six words long: lineage, raw material, method, concentration, character, verification. The checks below are the buyer's side of the same list.

SEVEN CHECKS

Ask these of any brand. Here is how we answer them.

Each check has the question, why it matters, and VibeMedX's own answer so you can hold us to it.

01 / A NAMED SOURCE

Which mountains, and which part of them?

A range name is a start. A good brand can say which area it means and how the material gets from there to the jar. If the answer stops at the range name, keep asking.

VibeMedX: Standard line: Altai. Any special product from another region says so on its own page.

02 / NAMED PEOPLE

Who collected it, and does the brand know them?

You do not need private details. You do need a brand that can describe the relationship with the people behind the raw material, and how long it has existed.

VibeMedX: A small circle of Altai families Ron has worked with for years, first as a customer, then as a partner.

03 / A DESCRIBED METHOD

How was it purified, and what was added after?

Traditional purification dissolves the raw material in water, filters it and reduces it slowly. A brand should be able to say what it does, including any finishing step of its own, in plain words.

VibeMedX: Water purification through the harvesting families, then the VibeMedX scalar-conditioning step, which we describe on the site and do not present as a substitute for documentation.

04 / A LOT YOU CAN IDENTIFY

Can this jar be traced to a batch?

Without a lot identifier, no report and no review can be tied to what you are holding. Look for a lot on the packaging or a way to ask about it.

VibeMedX: Ask the desk with the product name and the lot on the packaging; we tell you what exists for it.

05 / HONEST DOCUMENTATION

Is the report labelled for what it is?

A sample report is a sample. A batch report names the lot. Both can be useful; the problem is a sample presented as proof for every jar. Ask which one you are looking at.

VibeMedX: A legacy sample report is published and labelled as a sample. Product-specific documentation is by request.

06 / REVIEWS SHOWN IN FULL

Can you see the whole star breakdown?

Reviews are worth something when the low ones are visible too. Look for the full distribution and unedited text, not a curated strip of five-star quotes.

VibeMedX: Every product page shows its real Judge.me reviews with the true star breakdown, including the low ones.

07 / CLAIMS THAT STAY INSIDE WHAT IS KNOWN

Does the brand promise more than anyone can show?

Shilajit has a long traditional history and a small body of research. A brand that promises medical outcomes, or calls itself the only real shilajit, is telling you how it handles the truth everywhere else.

VibeMedX: We publish the studies we cite with their limits stated, and the usual supplement disclaimer sits in our footer.

PRICE AND SERVING MATH

Compare grams of shilajit, not jars.

Resin is sold by weight, so the comparison is simple: price divided by grams. Tablets, capsules, gummies and honey sticks are different. Read the label for how much shilajit is in each serving and how many servings are in the pack, then do the same division. A low price per pack can be a high price per gram of shilajit.

Go the other way too. A kilogram of resin offered for the price of a small jar is a prompt to ask what it is, where it came from and what can be shown for it.

The right question is not “Which brand is cheapest?” It is “What am I paying per gram, and what can they show me for it?”

WALK-AWAY SIGNS

Reasons to pause before you buy.

None of these proves a product is bad. Each one means the brand has not yet earned the sale.

  • “The only real shilajit” or “the purest in the world,” with nothing behind the sentence.
  • Medical promises. No shilajit brand can honestly make them.
  • A report shown as proof for every product when it describes one sample.
  • No way to reach a person who can answer a question about the lot.
  • Only five-star reviews on display, with the breakdown hidden.
  • A serving size that is not printed on the label.
HOLD US TO IT

Run the checks on VibeMedX, then decide.

Our answers are on this page and across the site. If one of them is not good enough, ask the desk. That is what it is for.

The legacy sample is an example report, not proof of a current lot.
